An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
